About Hantavirus

Hantaviruses are zoonotic viruses with a nearly global distribution. Theviruses cause two severe diseases in humans: haemorrhagic fever with renalsyndrome (HFRS) in Europe and Asia, and hantavirus cardiopulmonary syndr-ome (HCPS), also called hantavirus pulmonary syndrome, in the Americas.HPS is caused primarily via inhalation of hantavirus from contaminatedrodent urine, droppings, or saliva. Symptoms may include fatigue, fever, musclesaches, with rapid progression to coughing and shortness of breath, which maybe severe and life-threatening.
Incubation period: Symptoms may start to develop around 1 to 8 weeks afterexposure.

Intend Use

The Test Kit is an immunochromatographic test for the qualitative detec-tion of Hantavirus antigen in human serum, plasma, or whole blood samples.
