Intended use
Feline distemper, also known as feline panleukopenia and feline infectious enteritis, is an acute, highly contagious disease of cats. Clinical manifestations are characterized by sudden onset of high fever, intractable vomiting, diarrhea, dehydration, circulatory disturbances, and a dramatic decrease in white blood cells.
Test principle
The Feline Panleukopenia (FPV) Antigen Test Cassette (Colloidal Gold) employs a rapid immunochromatographic technique for the detection of Feline Panleukopenia virus antigen. After obtaining a stool sample and adding it to the spiking wells, if FPV antigen is present in the sample, it binds to the colloidal gold-labelled anti-FPV monoclonal antibody, forming an antigen-antibody complex that moves along the chromatographic membrane and binds to the antibody on the detection line and displays a burgundy colour. If FPV antigen is not present in the sample, no colour reaction occurs.
